Lilly's still not entirely certain about this whole shooting lessons things, as it's never really stuck before, but post-stabbing she's willing to grudgingly admit that more self-defense stuff might be good for her.

That in mind, she heads out back to look for her brilliant tutor. As long as he doesn't tell her to aim with her heart or whatever, this might even be fun.

"Nope."

Lilly shakes her head sadly.

"You can smell it on them. People like him and Andrew Wells... no matter what bad boy posturing they do or how rockstar their hair gets, deep down? They'd rather be in a library."

"Yeah, well."

Dean shrugs, still grinning.

"Gotta have some lameasses around. Makes us look better, huh?"

"Oh yeah."

Lilly flips her hair over one shoulder exaggeratedly.

"Not that we need it, of course."

"'Course not."

Dean smirks.

"But it's kinda funny to watch."

"Other people are here for my amusement," Lilly agrees.

She pauses.

"Except when they're trying to kill me, of course. That part's totally not funny anymore."

"Yeah, that parts kind of a bitch."

Dean knows whereof he speaks.

"I pretty much try and kill 'em first. Seems to work out okay."

Kinda.

"Intriguing."

Lilly flashes him a quick grin.

"Man, I've wasted so much time trying to charm people into not wanting me dead. Your solution's so much simpler, but I'm guessing the charm route was never going to work for you anyway."

"Yeah?"

Dean favors her with a friendly grin.

"You'd be surprised."

At least, some of the time she'd be surprised.

"I'm sure."

Lilly sounds a little dubious but not overly. Dean's not really that bad, but she'd much rather give him shit than tell him that.

The sound Dean makes is derisive, even if it ain't quite a snort.

"Hey, hang out with me long enough and you'll see."

Dean is adorable.

Soon Lilly will be unable to deny it.

A dastardly plot to get Lilly to see Dean's inner puppy? FIENDISH. Er.

"Well, you're not bad company. I'll give it a try."

"I can promise it won't kill you."

Not least because she's already dead.

That kinda comes in handy, doesn't it?

Not that--anyway.

"Now, about this whole gun-thing. You gonna go pick up that notebook so we can get started?"

Lilly rolls her eyes.

"I've fired guns in like, actual gunfights before, you know."

She does pick up the notebook, however. It must be that patented Dean charm starting to make inroads. Or something.

"Yeah?"

Dean raises an eyebrow.

"You hit anything?"

"Nazis."

Lilly shrugs, elaborately casual.

"It was during the whole Indy and Cairo thing. I kinda had to."

This--this kinda thing Dean knows damn well.

His smile's a little crooked, a little wry.

"You still beatin' yourself up about that, huh."

It isn't much of a question.

"It was ages ago now and besides, they were Nazis."

It's a valiant attempt at protesting. Valiant if not overly successful.

"Still... not something I'd ever done in Neptune."

"You just keep telling yourself that."

Hey, sometimes it works. Dean should know.

"Anyway. You ready for some note-taking?"

Dean hates chick-flick moments.

Even if they involve guns.

Probably especially if they involve guns. It taints the nice clean shooting fun with feelings.

Lilly flips her notebook open and looks up, wide-eyed.

"I'm all set, Mr. Dean. Now tell me... which end do I point away from myself again?"
