character analysis DE/meme... cont!
As per backroom post, comment with your character's name (past, present, or uh, future?) and I will tell you:
1) how Lilly's opinion of the named character has changed over time, or
2) why Lilly does or does not get along/like/other with the named pup.
There is a high possibility of bonus rambling.
ETA: Also, feel free to reply with what your pup thinks of Lilly!

Joe!
Dean!
GO!
Raven
*sorts through tangled web of emotions*
They started out as like, cracky good friends, you know? And then he took her flying, and that elevated him to BFF status, and then...
Then there was that Thing With Wash.
Lilly doesn't blame him. She's not angry. But at the same time... that's what she's thinking about when she sees him, now. She still likes him, but she's not easy around him the way she used to be. And that saddens her, but she doesn't really know what to do about it.
Joe
Lilly thinks she is weird, of course, but Lilly thinks that about a lot of her friends, and she does consider Joe a friend now. Not BFF, they would need to hang out more, but definitely a friend.
More hanging out is clearly required.
Dean
And now she thinks he is an asshole with a heart of gold that he pawned for parts for the Impala.
That is to say, she likes him and she might even actually trust him. I think she could have developed a crush on him, were it not for their unfortunate dead girl intro (she likes the rude ones! plz see Jayne, Coyote, and of course, that epitome of bad manners, Alain), but now she sees him as a solid friend as well as a drinking buddy.
And she will never ever talk about it, (but that's cool because Dean does not make her talk about stuff), but she really envies his relationship with his brother. Of all the Vmars-ers she met again in Bar, Duncan was the only one where their relationship hadn't shifted dramatically, and she misses him more than she will ever say, and so. There is a wistful envy thing going on there too.

But somehow or another, although she still thoroughly enjoys saying inappropriate things around him, she has actually grown to respect Merriman. Maybe because he has actual authority, and not just an air of it?
So yeah. She is not in way cowed by him, and there's no guarantee she would ever listen to him, but... there is respect. And the possibility of listening to him!

Havelock Vetinari.
I'll... probably do Lilly now, too, since I started thinking. But when it is not the middle of the night. *Grins*

And then she married Puck, and he became resourceful babysitter but also, now? She actually enjoys spending time with him. She makes weird drinks, he is stoic about it, they mess about with weaponry... it's like a girly girl good time, but with knives. Or knife-substitutes.
Unlikely friendships for the win! Also I think soon they will start ganging up on Puck.

I think Havelock and Lilly actually met before she and Puck got married, but that was under his standard patron radar: Nonthreatening, pleasant if confusing.
Then she was suddenly extended family and therefore his responsibility - yay for Ankh-Morpork family values - and actually? Kind of fun. Havelock and fun have a weird relationship, and it's very much mixed up with his work and ambitions, but he's not allergic to it, like he occasionally acts. And he approves of her business acumen, and as far as he knows, her parenting is a sterling example. (He? Was brought up by Madam Bobbi Meserole, and thus probably actually had a fairly similar experience to the twins.) It is a thing. She's one of his people, now, somehow, her and Puck and the twins, and he's entirely happy with that.

Ingress thinks Lilly is the coolest of the big girls she knows. I mean, Amy is fantastic and all queenly and stuff, and Door is cool and her sister and stuff, and the others are wonderful friends, but Lilly is fabulous. It actually is better that Lilly's never been one of her teachers, because she maintains a little glamor of the lesser-known that way.
Tom dismissed her slightly at first because she was another of those scantily-clad young ladies partying it up in the background. Not that he ever thought there was anything wrong with that, especially since he could watch the scantily-clad bit from a safe distance. He wasn't a Pevensie, after all, ha ha. Once he got to actually know her, he discovered she was much more than just a party girl. He thinks she's very brave. I have to say, he is always slightly on edge around her because he finds her freakin' hot. Darn those short skirts.

Incidentally, Lilly also thinks Tom is adorable. She has a weakness for slightly stuffy Brits with hidden depths. She also thinks it would be very, very fun to get him drunk and take him out on the town, but she never will because of Door. Lilly's nights on the town involve making out, you see.

Lilly likes Will! This of course does not preclude turning him bright red for kicks whenever they meet. :D She thinks he's sweet, and that he and Kate are sickeningly cute.

Alain, nowadays. *grin*
Ummm. Has she actually met any of my others? I think meeting Piotr was handwavily offscreen or something, so, uh, perhaps it is not fair to ask about him.
River
She likes her, too, but almost... abstractly? She doesn't really think about her much, but when she does it's like oh yeah, River's cool. And she has grudging respect for River's successful ability to bond with Roland. :D
Alain, nowadays
See, the thing is, consciously she does not think about him much until something reminds her, but unconsciously he still has this impact on her.
*explains!*
It's like Alain was her very first pair of truly fabulous sexy heels that she ever splurged on and she wore them to a club and looked amazing and danced all night and it was absolutely wonderful, but the next morning her feet were killing her, all blistered and bruised and the heel broke and she can never wear those shoes again.
Which, fine, whatever. They were awesome but there are other shoes out there. Only, because of how much those shoes made her feet hurt, she won't buy any with such high heels again even if she might get a chance to break them in and make them more comfortable.
So instead she just tries on shoes that are on sale, or kinda cute, or comfortable if not dangerously pointy, and it's cool, you know? None of them are her favorites, none of them make her feel like the hottest girl in the club, but none of them hurt her feet.
She doesn't compare every new pair of shoes to the old pair, and she doesn't even really think about the old pair all the time, but... when she's out shopping, these days, she just walks past the rack of super high heels, you know?
But sometimes, when she's out and she sees someone else strutting around with a seriously awesome pair of shoes on, she gets a little wistful.

Clearly more hanging out is needed!
